Formally XR Samba Stroud

Learn to play samba each Sunday!

Street Beats Stroud practice every Sunday at 7pm. No experience is necessary and instruments are provided.

Street Beats Stroud has its roots in 2019, as a samba-fusion band to support Extinction Rebellion (XR). Many of us do attend the big XR demos, where bands come from across the UK to play together, but we also support local and community events and we play at festivals. And alongside the serious intent, we play because it’s really good fun!

Everyone is welcome to join us – not just active supporters of XR. Our present band ranges in age from early-teens to mid-sixties, and a little over 50% are female. (Under 18’s need to be accompanied by someone over 18). We practice every Sunday evening in a pretty relaxed atmosphere.

You can view our upcoming practices here.

Beginners are very welcome

All training is provided, and we have plenty of spare instruments for you to pick up and try. Drumming is so much fun, and we need you to help provide the fun heartbeat to our rebellion.
